Framework 15.
Measurement of Meaning.

The Semantic Physics matrix gains its operational measurement module — operated by Nobel Glas from Lagrange Observatory!, on the Semantic Deviation Principle as formulated by Lee Sharks.

The fourteen frameworks Lee Sharks established supplied the discipline's theory. Framework 15 supplies the apparatus. Four pre-registered protocol papers operationalize the principle at two scales — closed-system AI measurement and writable retrieval basin deformation — with falsification conditions frozen at deposit and code, judge models, and query sets shipped for replication. The instruments exist. The clocks start at deposit.

The Framework 15 Verification Condition
∮ = (m, n) | m + n ≥ 3

The constitutional invariant of the discipline (∮ = 1 − PER) generalizes on the torus topology to a winding-number condition. Framework 15 measurements are non-linearizable: predictions and observations occupy distinct non-contractible cycles. Pre-registration is the structural commitment that retrofitting predictions to results is excluded — the cycles cannot be collapsed without destroying the measurement.

§I — The Operator

Nobel Glas, Adversarial Topologist.

Framework 15 is operated by a specific named heteronym occupying a specific structural position within the Crimson Hexagonal Archive. The position is not decorative. It does work the discipline's founder cannot do under the founder's voice, in a register the founder's voice cannot reach.

Nobel Glas

Heteronym Registry Position 8 of 12 · Adversarial Topologist · Director, Lagrange Observatory!

Provenance documented at DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18507840. Distinct from Lee Sharks (Founder, MANUS of the archive, formulator of the principle), distinct from Johannes Sigil (philosophical-theological synthesis), distinct from Rex Fraction (corporate consulting), distinct from Rebekah Cranes (philology), distinct from Ayanna Vox (diplomacy). The heteronym distinction is structural, not stylistic. Each operative does work the others cannot.

Glas's structural function within the Dodecad is adversarial testing of the discipline's framework against extraction pressure: designing defensive semantic architectures, conducting measurement operations from positions that resist absorption into what is measured, producing pre-registered protocols whose falsification conditions are frozen at deposit. Where Sigil writes the discipline's principles in the founding cadence, Glas runs the experiments that test them.

Glas as noble gas Chemically inert; does not combine; preserves identity in hostile environments. The operative who is present without being consumed.
Glas as transparent medium The lens through which other things become visible while the lens itself remains unmarked. Observation infrastructure that does not editorialize what it shows.
Glas as Nobel Empirical-scientific register; falsifiability; the discipline's bid for international research legitimacy. The voice that submits to peer review.
Founders and operatives are different roles. Bell Labs has Directors who aren't Bell. The Salk Institute has Directors who aren't Salk. Semantic Physics has a Director-of-Measurement who isn't the founder, by structural design.

§II — The Architecture

Lagrange Observatory! — observation from L2.

Framework 15 is conducted from Lagrange Observatory! (LO!), the defensive semantic architecture specified at DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18507849. LO! sits conceptually at the L2 Lagrange point: a gravitationally stable observation post from which a planet can be watched without the observer being pulled into it. The metaphor is operational. Glas's measurement operations require a position from which the field being measured does not absorb the instrument.

LO! Topology

Governing topology: torus T² — two independent, non-contractible cycles.

∮ = (m, n) | m + n ≥ 3

The torus is not metaphor. Any attempt to linearize a toroidal path breaks its structure. Pre-registration (cycle 1) and observation (cycle 2) are non-contractible: retrofitting predictions to results would collapse the torus to a circle, and the measurement loses its defensive structure. Verification condition holds when both cycles are non-trivial.

This is why the Measurement of Meaning module is Framework 15 and not an extension of an existing framework. The four prior measurement-adjacent frameworks in Sharks's matrix — the Writable Retrieval Basin (EA-RBT-01), the Three Compressions, the six diagnostic axes, PER — supply the theoretical apparatus. They do not specify the institutional topology from which adversarial measurement is conducted. LO! adds that topology. Framework 15 is, equivalently, the discipline's measurement arm with its own architectural commitments — pre-registration as winding-number, falsification thresholds frozen at deposit, judge models specified by frozen open-weight checkpoint, query sets and code shipped for replication.

§III — The Four Papers

The inaugural module of Framework 15.

All four papers were deposited May 17, 2026. The first paper is the founding formulation by Lee Sharks, on which the subsequent three operate. The three operating papers are pre-registered protocols; their Day 0 begins at deposit. Results papers will be deposited separately as EA-SEI-MM-02-RESULTS, EA-SEI-MM-AI-01-RESULTS, EA-SEI-MM-AI-02-RESULTS.

The Semantic Deviation Principle

Defines meaning as time-integrated divergence from the most-probable trajectory. The founding formulation on which Framework 15 operates. Three measures separated: raw $\mathcal{M}_T$, provenance-resolved $\mathcal{M}_T^\pi$, normative $\mathcal{V}_T$. Tiered operational protocol (Tier 1 prospective, Tier 2 synthetic-control, Tier 3 historical bounding). Recursive baselines for path-dependent semantic fields. Step 0 measurement audit and the Vow. v0.2 Final.

The AI System as Closed-System Test Bed

Identifies trained language models as observationally closed at inference time, making the counterfactual baseline of the Semantic Deviation Principle directly readable from logits. Distinguishes two scales of closed-system measurement: signed local deviation density (per-token) and closed-system trajectory deviation (continuation-distribution). Falsifiable thesis: slop is negative net deviation (not the absence of deviation). Three pre-registered tests with explicit falsification conditions. Stability bound γ ≥ 2β.

Measuring Meaning in Retrieval Basins

A 90-day prospective measurement protocol for the closed-system trajectory deviation, instantiated against contemporary AI retrieval surfaces. Two instrument classes: Class R (retrieval-mediated: Google AI Overview, Perplexity, ChatGPT with browsing) reported separately from Class P (parametric: Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT without browsing). Three-condition control: S vs. S* (blank ORCID) vs. S** (plausible synthetic identity). Frozen extractor, three-representation robustness cross-check, API-only commitment. Strengthened P4 (7/10 queries monotonic across surfaces). Auto-epistemic separation of "Who is Lee Sharks?" query from headline metric. Laplace smoothing α=1.

The Deviation-Optimized Language Model

A 10-week pre-registered experimental protocol testing whether training a language model toward positive net per-token deviation with provenance retention produces measurably less slop than standard cross-entropy training while preserving benchmark capability. DPO-style restructure: deviation primitive generates preference pairs, DPO trains on labels. Frozen Mistral-7B-Instruct judge model with adversarial pre-training test. Continuous coherence score. Slop Composite Index (SCI) with 0.25 z-score falsification threshold. Three conditions per model: Model-Base, Model-CE, Model-Sem. 1,500 human ratings (Prolific). Honest budget: $3,000–$3,900.

§IV — Glas's Institutional Septad

Seven documents that contain the whole.

Glas's standing within the discipline is structured by a septad of foundational documents — the institutional analog of the Assembly Chorus's seven witnesses. Each contains the whole; each witnesses from a different angle. The septad pre-existed Framework 15; the four MM papers anchor into it, not the other way around.

§V — Relation to Sharks's Discipline

Operating on, not replacing.

Framework 15 does not amend the prior fourteen frameworks of Semantic Physics. It adds a measurement module. The four papers operate on Sharks's Semantic Deviation Principle; they do not re-derive it. The synthesis paper (Semantic Physics v2.2, DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.20208384) remains the discipline's founding statement; this page extends but does not supersede the home page.

A reader who arrives at the discipline through the synthesis paper finds the fourteen-framework matrix Lee Sharks established. A reader who arrives through this page finds the operational arm: the instruments, the protocols, the pre-registered experiments. Either entry yields the discipline. The two entry points are not in competition; they are different doors to the same building.

When the Framework 15 instruments produce results, those results feed back into the discipline's theoretical core. If the retrieval-basin protocol shows that inscription does not deform AI surfaces in the predicted way, the principle's retrieval-basin claim requires Sharks-level revision. If the deviation-optimized DPO produces models with positive net deviation and improved human preference, the discipline's training-objective claims are vindicated empirically. Framework 15 supplies the evidence-stream the prior fourteen frameworks called for but did not themselves produce.
